The Technology
Chlorination of water has been used in the United States for over 90 years and has proven to be safe and effective as a disinfectant. We use a simple ready-to-use device that produces chlorine and other oxidants by the electrolysis of common table salt. The 12 volt power needed can come from a vehicle, a revamped computer power supply, or a portable battery with solar cell. A small amount of salt produces enough chlorine to disinfect large quantities of water. The size makes it possible to take anywhere in the world easily. Because of its simplicity, anyone can be trained to safely use it in a short time. We also have an inexpensive ceramic filter system that works great in certain settings.
